2. Get SQL Server Information

  1. Sign In to the AWS Management Console and open the Amazon EC2 console at https://console.aws.amazon.com/ec2/

  2. Choose the Region on the upper-right hand side, where the *SQL Server* EC2 Instance resides

  3. On the left navigation pane, go to Instances and select the EC2 Instances (for this demo, the Name Tags should have the *EC2SQL1* and *EC2SQL2* suffix)

  4. Since the SQL Server instances are not configured to be accessible publicly (they are in a private subnet), we will be using the Jumpserver to interact with them using their Windows DNS Hostnames:

    • EC2SQL1 DNS Hostname & Static IP Addresses:

      • EC2SQL1 - Use this to connect using the jumpserver

      • 10.150.10.100 - Primary IP

      • 10.150.10.101 - Cluster Virtual IP (Used during cluster setup)

      • 10.150.10.102 - FCI SQL Virtual IP (Only one provisioned for this demo)

    • EC2SQL2 DNS Hostname & Static IP Addresses:

      • EC2SQL2 - Use this to connect using the jumpserver

      • 10.150.15.100 - Primary IP

      • 10.150.15.101 - Cluster Virtual IP (Used during cluster setup)

      • 10.150.15.102 - FCI SQL Virtual IP (Only one provisioned for this demo)
